Hey guys, i need some info from you serious tech-heads. I just bought an ATI X1900GT PCI-E...i'm planning to buy a Dell Dimension 9200 (so i can use the card). I'm a bit worried, the manual says the computer should have a 450watt+ power supply and a 12v special connector. Now the connector i'm sure it has since it has a PCI-E x16 slot, but 450watts?
This dimension 9200 only has 375watt, and most of the dell machines i looked all have 375watts - so i'm really confused, do i have to get a 450 watt supply just to run this video card?

I suggest you upgrade your power supply. The more power to your pc the better. This mean that your computer will get enough power to run all hardware include your processor and graphic. 500 watt and above would be great for p4 and above!

..................|||i'm running a 700 watt power supply, because the video card takes about 300- 320 watts just to power it up , plus everything else takes power also and if you sacrifice power your system will crash , and then hang during post boot,and alot of people will not figure out the problem , each fan usually takes 13-18 watts of power , the moterboard usually takes about 100 watts , to energize the processor ,this all adds up very quickly , if you want to be gaming do some research ,through old maximium pc magazines , they are a good reference source|||that depends on what else do u have in u'r sistem
if u have a lot of hdd, dvd-roms, a tv tuner and other components that are power eaters u should change u'r power suply
